Douglas Burnet Smith is the author of fifteen books of poetry. Nominated for the Governor General's Award, he has won many prizes for his writing including The Malahat Review Long Poem Prize. He has attended many writers’ festivals including: the Belgrade International Writers’ Meeting, the Sarajevo International Poetry Festival, Le Scriptorium: Marseille, Le Marché de la Poésie, Paris. He teaches at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and at the American University of Paris
